Welcome to Chillflix, the first of many film reviews based on Netflix Originals. Why? Because Netflix continually releases a heaping load of content and some of it is actually quite good. Thus I feel it merits its own distinction within this site’s film reviews. The structure of these reviews will be similar to our Plus/Minus […]
Needless to say, I’m biting off more than I can likely chew on this piece. I think ultimately what I’ll do is follow this up in the near future with a more in-depth video on The Dallas Prospect’s YouTube channel. For now, I’ll just outline a few quick notes on how Disney and Director Rian Johnson could’ve largely kept the same story framework while producing a vastly better product.
During a recent sitdown and photoshoot with Vanity Fair, Scarlett Johansson seemed to hint at her eminent departure from Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. According to Disney, the studio has ideas for 20 additional films beyond everything we’ve gotten over the past ten years. Said Kevin Feige, these ideas will be “intentionally” different. How different? Well for starters, staples of the franchise Chris Evans (Captain America), Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) are all set to leave the MCU at the conclusion of Marvel’s Phase 3 block of films. When done properly, see Marvel, you can create a serious cash cow that rakes in tens of millions of dollars two-to-four times a year. In Marvel’s case, the gravy train shows no end in sight. For those looking to copy Marvel’s success, however, the results have been, shall we say, disappointing.

But, with the recent additions of Shawn Levy, producer of Stranger Things, in the Director’s seat, as well as Tom Holland of Spider-Man Homecoming being cast as young Nathan, things […]
These days, it seems like there’s a new superhero movie every month, and while that may seem awesome on some level, it does run the risk of over-saturation, a problem made all the worse by Hollywood’s tendency to reuse actors from other superhero franchises. I’m looking at you, Chris Evans and Ryan Reynolds! As such, here are 5 actors DC should cast.
